About me
Hi! I'm Whitney, artist of residence. Thanks to my ADHD I have had many hobbies in my 30 years, but photography is one that I haven't lost an interest in. If anything, I love it more now thanks to the experience I have gained!
Professionally, my experience has been in studio photography, but my passion has always been natural light. I worked for a portrait studio while living in Blacksburg, Virginia, which helped build my confidence taking photos of people. When I moved to Denver, I became a school photographer, which was a very fast paced environment. In that, I learned how to make others comfortable while moving as quickly as possible. Both of these jobs provided me with skills I am able to incorporate into my own photography.
I used to love taking pictures of any and everything, mostly plants ((who am I kidding on the "used to" aspect)) but what I enjoyed most was taking candid photos of friends and family. I love a good classic portrait, but even more so, capturing the emotions between people. I love mixing in the candid with the posed shots during sessions, creates a mosaic of connection, as well as a relaxed session.
